How to play Kali Teeri

In one minute

• Six players, 48 cards (the 2s are removed), eight tricks.
• There are 250 points in the deck. The 3 of Spades alone is worth 30.
• You bid the points your side will take. Highest bidder names trump.
• The bidder calls two cards; whoever holds them is secretly their partner.
• Follow suit if you can. Highest trump wins, otherwise highest card of the led suit.
• Reach the bid and the bidding side wins the hand.

Your first few hands

Count your trump length before you count your high cards — control matters more than raw strength. Watch which suits people fail to follow, because that tells you who can trump what. And keep track of the called cards: the bidder never holds what they called, so every call is a small confession about their hand.
